Liza Heapes is the Director of Corporate Communications at BeiGene, Ltd. (NASDAQ: BGNE), a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing innovative molecularly targeted and immuno-oncology drugs for the treatment of cancer. BeiGene has more than 1,100 worldwide employees and four U.S. offices. In her role, Liza is responsible for developing and implementing both internal and external communications strategies outside of China.

Liza joins BeiGene from ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biotechnology company that was recently acquired by Takeda. During her six-year tenure there, Liza managed the company’s busy news flow spanning R&D and regulatory news, product approvals and launches, financial and corporate announcements. Liza has experience enhancing corporate brands, aligning communications with strategic partners and creating content across numerous communications platforms. Prior to ARIAD, she was an account director focused on medical technology clients at MSLGroup, a global public relations and integrated communications agency.

She has also been responsible for communications at ABIOMED and briefly opened her owned PR shop.

Liza holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School. In her free time, Liza enjoys being with her family, cooking and various fitness activities.
