Laura Kiesel is a freelance writer and journalist. Her articles, op-eds and essays have appeared in major publications and websites. She blogs about chronic pain, disability and illness for Harvard Health Publications and Health Union and is on the faculty at Grub Street. She was a reporter and columnist for the financial news website The Street and its sibling site Main Street, covering climate change, energy, agriculture and health. Kiesel was a journalism fellow with the Metcalf Institute for Marine & Environmental Reporting of the University of Rhode Island. Originally from New York City, she now lives in greater Boston.
