Isabel Lara leads media relations for NPR, her team works to extend the reach of NPR’s award-winning public service journalism, podcasts, programs, and events. She was at the National Air and Space Museum for seven years, where she spearheaded the media strategy for space shuttle Discovery’s transfer from NASA to the Smithsonian—a campaign that yielded more than 100 front-page stories, massive public engagement and won a 2013 PRSA Silver Anvil Award of Excellence. She has collaborated with multiple government agencies, non-profit associations and philanthropic organizations in her nearly twenty years in communications.
