Rob Friedman got his start at Ragan Communications, editing Speechwriter’s Newsletter and teaching workshops on speechwriting. He spent more than 20 years at Eli Lilly and Company, his last nine as senior director of executive communications. At Lilly, Friedman wrote for three CEOs—speeches, op-eds, annual reports, video scripts and the occasional bar mitvah toast—and helped put on three TEDx events. He’s taught thousands of communicators from around the world.
