Kris Fortner is senior leader in global communications at Genentech/Roche. An award-winning communicator with more than 25 years of experience in communications, Fortner’s work has ranged from corporate communications, media relations and reputation management to internal and executive communications. In his current role, Fortner leads internal communications for several therapeutic areas and business functions to improve business literacy and drive engagement among the organization’s 5,000+ global product development employees, providing communications support and strategic counsel to members of the leadership team and helping increase awareness across the organization of the product development team’s contributions. Before joining Genentech/Roche, Fortner ran the corporate public relations team at McKesson, a Fortune 500 health care organization in San Francisco. Fortner graduated from Furman University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, two daughters and 14-year-old dog.
