Kate Hurowitz leads internal communications at Google. Her job takes in legal, public policy, Google.org, trust and safety, finance, real estate and workplace services, business operations, people operations and more. Before making the move to Silicon Valley, Hurowitz worked with a range of small nonprofits and large academic institutions in the United States and Latin America. She holds a degree in anthropology and gender studies from Columbia University and a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. Hurowitz lives in Oakland with her son and a revolving cast of pet snails.
